Pistacia lentiscus
This evergreen shrub from the Mediterranean shores bears clusters of pale green flowers which will later give red-black fruits. Its bark is incised for its resin called mastic, which is chewed to freshen breath. On hot August days, it literally fills the air with its signature scent.
